Introduction

The CYCU Department of Landscape Architecture was founded in 2004 and it formally established its Master’s Program in 2011. With a stable footing and a professional attitude of reflection we have opened up a new field of vision for landscape design –and have already been affirmed by both the academic and professional sectors.

Professional landscape planning and design is focused on creating scenic spaces. Landscaping is a concrete expression of the existence of man in any given location. Landscaping tells the relationship between man and nature and can express the content of culture. Consequently, the type of landscape that landscape practitioners work to protect and create is one that allows all types of life to have a fair chance to exist and sustainably live together in a beautiful environment. Therefore, in addition to the spatial design of traditional outdoor gardens, yards and parks, we also give extra care towards planning and designing of cultural landscapes, cities, towns, communities and other living environments.
