CYCU showcased outstanding achievements in digital learning at the 2025 MOE ELOE International Conference in Taipei, earning multiple major awards. Leading the “Digital Empowerment and Lifelong Learning Alliance,” CYCU has, over the past four years, strengthened digital literacy, enhanced curriculum development, and promoted resource sharing in collaboration with Providence University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Chinese Culture University, and Tunghai University. Through a structured governance model and collaborative mechanisms, the alliance has continuously advanced cross-university digital learning innovation and impact.

CYCU celebrates its 70th anniversary with outstanding performance. The university achieved a 100% freshman enrollment rate for the sixth consecutive year, and with approved ICT expansion quotas, its actual enrollment rate reached 101.33%. CYCU has ranked first among all public and private comprehensive universities nationwide for eight consecutive years.

Chung Yuan Christian University’s AI University Internship Program showcased 28 students’ AI solutions for seven partner companies after a 15-week intensive industry-academia co-creation program, using generative AI and AI agents to address real business needs and support local industry transformation.

CYCU continued its winning streak at the 20th Holtek MCU Creative Design Competition, held on December 20. Competing against hundreds of teams nationwide, CYCU won eight major awards, including a Gold Medal in the Creative Product Design category. A cross-disciplinary team earned the top prize with a solar-tracking sunshade control device, marking CYCU’s fifth consecutive championship.

CYCU’s College of Science unveiled the “Star Corridor,” an immersive multimedia astronomy exhibition designed by renowned astronomer Dr. Wei-Hsin Sun. The space showcases the beauty of the universe and will serve as a key platform for upcoming educational and outreach activities as CYCU prepares for the 2026 “Year of Space.”

Hosted by CYCU College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and exclusively sponsored by MSI, the 4th “Awakening of the Force—EECS Project and Creative Proposal Competition” held its finals and showcase on December 17. Centered on innovative theoretical and practical applications of AI in R&D, the event attracted 220 participating teams, highlighting CYCU’s strong achievements in AI education and hands-on engineering training.

CYCU’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, led by Associate Professor Cheng-An Lin, partnered with Chao-Chiang Technology Co., Ltd. to win the 22nd National Innovation Award (Academia–Industry Innovation Category, 2025) with their “Plug-and-Play Visual Nano Optical Imaging System for Real-Time Liquid Biopsy.” The technology has completed pilot production and passed multiple safety and compatibility tests, demonstrating strong readiness for market application and high commercial potential.

From December 12 to 14, 2025, CYCU hosted the 24th Annual Conference on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and International Academic Symposium, a key academic event of its 70th anniversary. Co-organized with the Association of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Taiwan, the conference focused on “Sustainable Development of Global Chinese Education,” highlighting CYCU’s commitment to Chinese language education and international academic collaboration.

On December 9, 2025, the CYCU Semiconductor Industry Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WINFAB, a platform established by the Université catholique de Louvain (UC Louvain) in Belgium. Led by Vice President Tsung-Yuan Wu, the CYCU delegation visited UC Louvain to formalize the partnership. The two institutions will collaborate in semiconductor technology research, academia–industry cooperation, and talent development, laying a solid foundation for long-term international collaboration.

Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) recently announced that the research project, "Hybrid Quantum Network for Typhoon Forecasting in Wind Power Farms," led by Chair Professor Ying Yi Hong of the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been selected for the NVIDIA Academic Grant Program. This grant serves as a testament to the strength of CYCU's Quantum Computing Research Team and will generate strong synergy with the goals of the existing "CYCU AI University" collaboration between CYCU and NVIDIA.

Professor Yi-Chih Hsu of CYCU’s Department of Biotechnology developed an innovative liposomal composite drug-loading platform that advances cancer drug delivery and nanoparticle formulation technologies. In November 2025, the platform was transferred to CYCU spin-off Hermez Nanomedicine, Inc., leading to a major licensing agreement that generated significant revenue for the university.
