The semiconductor industry is a national asset for Taiwan, yet maintaining this advantage faces numerous challenges, including declining birth rates, a decrease in STEM talent, and the emergence of semiconductor alliances in other countries, with Korea vowing to become a chip superpower, among others. In response to these challenges, Chung Yuan Christian University declares its commitment to answering the call and fulfilling its social responsibility as a university. Specific objectives include establishing a semiconductor talent bank and collaborating with semiconductor companies to establish joint research centers aimed at nurturing semiconductor talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve the goal of the semiconductor talent bank, Chung Yuan will offer courses such as wafer technology modules, semiconductor equipment testing modules, process technology modules, integrated circuit design and testing modules, and semiconductor packaging modules. Furthermore, Chung Yuan will collaborate with TSMC to offer practical semiconductor process courses and will work with globally influential semiconductor companies to introduce four major programs: component integration, process module, instrumentation engineering, and smart manufacturing. Each program consists of 8-12 required courses and 2-3 elective courses. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate, providing them with an advantage for future employment opportunities in semiconductor companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chung Yuan Christian University plans to establish a Semiconductor Industry College in the academic year 113. This college will include a Master’s degree program in Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Testing. Additionally, there are plans to introduce a Master’s program and a Ph.D. program specifically focused on the semiconductor industry. The university vows to become one of Taiwan’s crucial “talent banks” for the semiconductor industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
