In its 28th year, the competition expanded globally for the first time, attracting representative teams from 10 international economies to participate in Taiwan. Information elites from around the world gathered to exchange ideas, with a total of 102 schools, 1,382 teams, and over 7,000 participants, setting a new record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CYCU students, leveraging their knowledge and creativity, closely align with societal needs, and actively contribute to the educational mission of using technology to benefit communities. Their consistent success in various competitions not only showcases their achievements but also contributes to the establishment of a strong tradition of excellence at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition combines project implementation with academic research and practical experience, aiming to meet industry demands and actively facilitate industry-academia collaboration. Chung Yuan Christian University announced that its Information Management team has secured first place in the &#8216;Industry-Academia Collaboration Group&#8217; for the sixth consecutive year, achieving an impressive &#8216;six-peat&#8217; record, bringing honor to the university. Professor Que Hao-en mentioned that the Information Management department at Chung Yuan provides solid professional training. By combining this foundation with guidance from mentors, students gain the confidence and courage to face challenges in various competitions, once again proving the department&#8217;s ability to withstand scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the societal phenomenon of Taiwan facing an aging population, Professor Liao Yu-ping from the Department of Electrical Engineering guided students Li Ming-hao, Li Kai-chi, and Li Ding-lin to design a &#8216;Surveillance Robot&#8217; system that combines millimeter-wave radar. Starting with the care of elderly individuals living alone, the system includes autonomous cruising, obstacle detection, and the ability to recognize when a person has fallen. It immediately sends notifications when unexpected incidents are detected.
