At the beginning of his presentation, he showcased a map of Taiwan, highlighting over 40 NVIDIA supply chain partners in the region. The map also listed 17 universities, including Chung Yuan Christian University, unexpectedly becoming a highlight of the speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chung Yuan Christian University noted that they had signed a memorandum of understanding with NVIDIA in March, announcing the establishment of the AI Development Joint Service Center, aiming to accelerate the cultivation of AI talent in Taiwan and drive industrial development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chung Yuan Christian University is the fourth university in Taiwan to collaborate with NVIDIA on the AI University program, following National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Their collaboration spans research, teaching, and industry-academia partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, Chung Yuan Christian University signed an MOU with NVIDIA to establish the &#8220;NVIDIA-Chung Yuan Christian University AI Development Joint Service Center.&#8221; On April 12, they hosted their first major event, the &#8220;Large Language Model Workshop,&#8221; taught by four NVIDIA solution architects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the course, the architects discussed Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques and introduced the &#8220;End-to-End Construction of Custom LLM Platforms&#8221; with NVIDIA NeMo. The workshop also utilized NVIDIA cloud computing resources, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the latest technologies and trends in generative AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice President Ying-Yi Hung stated that large language models are ultra-large deep learning models trained on vast amounts of data, making them highly versatile for performing various tasks such as answering questions, summarizing documents, translating languages, and completing sentences. The well-known ChatGPT is an example of generative AI developed based on this technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hung mentioned that the &#8220;NVIDIA-Chung Yuan Christian University AI Development Joint Service Center&#8221; will leverage NVIDIA&#8217;s latest GPU architecture, technologies, and high-performance computing techniques for research in machine learning, medical diagnostics, quantum computing, and large language models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Chung Yuan Christian University has invested NT$16 million to build AI facilities and optimize corresponding spaces. The university aims to develop smart innovation courses and collaborative teaching models based on the unique characteristics of each college.
