Dr. Chi-Pin Wu, professor in the Department of Physics and director of the Master\u2019s Program in Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Inspection, was honored as a representative internship instructor for his long-term dedication to the <em>Semiconductor Talent Development Program<\/em>, showcasing CYCU\u2019s strong achievements in internship education and industry-academia collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, Dr. Wu has actively promoted the program by integrating internal and external faculty and industry resources. He developed three specialized courses combining theory and practice\u2014Plasma Technology, Vacuum Technology, and Advanced Semiconductor Equipment\u2014enabling students to build solid professional knowledge and skills during their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that the program also includes 320 hours of on-the-job training, where students intern with partner companies during summer break. Chairman Ping-Hai Chiao, an alumnus of CYCU\u2019s Department of Chemical Engineering, has long supported the university\u2019s development and recently funded the creation of Chi-Ta Hall, a cutting-edge teaching space for semiconductor education. It is one of the few facilities in Taiwan that integrates real equipment with virtual reality technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chi-Ta Hall features crystal growth process models, 12-inch silicon ingots, holographic laser tweezers, and VR simulation systems, helping students better understand core semiconductor technologies and strengthen practical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CYCU and GlobalWafers have also co-established the Digital Optics Research Center, focusing on crystal materials, optoelectronics, and compound semiconductors. Through career talks, company visits, job fairs, and corporate info sessions, CYCU helps students stay informed about industry trends, plan their career paths early, and enhance their competitiveness for immediate employment after graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2023 academic year, CYCU offered 50 internship courses across 20 departments, with a total of 970 students participating. These students interned at 435 organizations, including companies, government agencies, and educational institutions.
