A research team led by Assistant Professor Yen-Jui Chang of the Master\u2019s Program in Intelligent Computing and Big Data, as well as the Quantum Information Center, collaborated with National Taiwan University and Imperial College London to present groundbreaking work in quantum computing at the ICLR 2025 DeLTa Workshop. The paper, titled <em>&#8220;Frame Generation in Hilbert Space: Generative Interpolation of Measurement Data for Quantum Parameter Adaptation&#8221;<\/em>, introduces a novel solution to a key challenge in training quantum neural networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study tackles the issue of heavy reliance on large amounts of measurement data in quantum model training. Inspired by image augmentation techniques, the team proposed a method called Generative Interpolation (GI), which uses deep neural networks to reconstruct missing quantum data from only a small number of neighboring quantum states. This approach significantly reduces the cost of quantum computing resources. The results show that using just 2.5 percent of the original measurement data can achieve tuning performance equivalent to or even better than full measurements.
