In summer 2025, the College of Humanities and Education launched three practicum programs through its departments of foreign languages, Chinese language teaching, and teacher education. These initiatives applied language and education training beyond the classroom to promote intercultural understanding and community engagement, reflecting CYCU\u2019s \u201clearning by doing\u201d philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages participated in a German language and culture program in Austria and completed internships in Canada, gaining global exposure and workplace experience. These placements allowed them to apply teaching methods in real-world classrooms and build intercultural competence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support students, the university provided financial aid and held pre-departure briefings covering cultural adaptation and safety. The program emphasized meaningful engagement and long-term commitment to educational equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dean Pen-Ni Su emphasized that these programs embody CYCU\u2019s holistic education goals\u2014blending international learning, local service, and interdisciplinary practice to prepare students for real-world challenges.
