A cross-institutional team led by Dr. Yan-Jui Chang from CYCU\u2019s Quantum Information Center, together with Dr. Chen-Lin Liu (NTU), Dr. Kuan-Cheng Chen (Imperial College London), and Dr. Yen-Chi Chen (Wells Fargo), won Best Paper (1st Place) in the Quantum Applications, Algorithms, and Platforms (QAPP) track at the IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering (QCE 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their award-winning paper, Quantum-Enhanced Parameter-Efficient Learning for Typhoon Trajectory Forecasting, outperformed teams from NASA and Classiq, marking a significant breakthrough in applying quantum technology to climate challenges. For Taiwan, often threatened by typhoons, this achievement carries particular importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team\u2019s proposed Quantum Parameter Adaptation (QPA) framework reduces model parameters by over 96%, while maintaining or even surpassing traditional accuracy.
