<\/figure>\n\n\n\nCYCU noted that the swift advancement of this collaboration is largely due to the efforts of Professor Chao-Ming Fu, Dean of the Semiconductor Industry Academy. As an alumnus of UC Louvain, Professor Fu actively facilitated dialogue between the two institutions, visiting UC Louvain twice this year to discuss partnership opportunities. He also strengthened academic ties by inviting WINFAB Manager Christian Renaux to speak at the CYCU International Forum on the Semiconductor Industry and arranged meetings with key semiconductor companies in Taiwan, helping establish concrete collaboration intentions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Fu explained that the MOU focuses on semiconductor technology, with key areas including joint research on advanced materials, device fabrication, and IC design; academia\u2013industry collaboration in semiconductor R&D; and exchange and training programs for faculty and students. The partnership will adopt a phased approach\u2014beginning at the laboratory level and expanding to institutional collaboration\u2014to ensure meaningful academic outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further emphasized that Taiwan\u2019s semiconductor industry holds a pivotal global position but faces challenges such as talent shortages and geopolitical shifts. CYCU established the Semiconductor Industry Academy in 2024 to cultivate internationally minded, practice-oriented talent. The partnership with UC Louvain\u2019s WINFAB marks an important milestone in advancing international research collaboration and linking Taiwan\u2019s semiconductor ecosystem with global expertise. On December 9, 2025, the CYCU Semiconductor Industry Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WINFAB, a platform established by the Universit\u00e9 catholique de Louvain (UC Louvain) in Belgium.
