The OBU Architecture and Urban Design Dual Bachelor\u2019s Degree Program, delivered entirely in English, aligns with global standards and aims to cultivate architecture and urban design professionals with strong sustainability awareness and practical expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late December 2025, OBU\u2019s Head of Urban Design, Professor Laura Novo De Azevedo, visited Taiwan for nine days to meet with CYCU faculty and discuss curriculum alignment, course updates, and future collaboration, further strengthening the partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 22, CYCU College of Design also co-hosted the 2025 CYCU Christmas Walking Festival, themed \u201cTurning Zhongbei Road into a Street Playground,\u201d showcasing people-centered public space practices. Professor Azevedo attended the opening ceremony, highlighting the importance of human-centered urban design and recognizing CYCU\u2019s ongoing efforts to improve urban public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1391\" src=\"https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/\u300c2025\u4e2d\u539f\u8036\u8a95\u6563\u6b65\u7bc0\u300d\u5408\u7167.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/\u300c2025\u4e2d\u539f\u8036\u8a95\u6563\u6b65\u7bc0\u300d\u5408\u7167.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/\u300c2025\u4e2d\u539f\u8036\u8a95\u6563\u6b65\u7bc0\u300d\u5408\u7167-768x522.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/\u300c2025\u4e2d\u539f\u8036\u8a95\u6563\u6b65\u7bc0\u300d\u5408\u7167-1536x1043.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the afternoon of December 22, the two university teams held a series of meetings to review the updated UK bachelor\u2019s program structure, course modules, assessment alignment, and integrated teaching strategies, and to further refine the dual-degree curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sides confirmed that the program\u2019s core courses, Urban Lab 1 &amp; 2, will adopt a cross-institutional co-teaching model, scheduled to launch in Fall 2026 (AY 2026\u20132027). With both universities delivering the same RTPI-accredited, English-taught curriculum, UK students will be able to study in Taiwan for at least one semester, strengthening international exchange and further aligning the CYCU OBU Program with global standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1477\" height=\"1108\" src=\"https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/L.-Azevedo\u6559\u6388\u8a2a\u53f0.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/L.-Azevedo\u6559\u6388\u8a2a\u53f0.jpg 1477w, https:\/\/eng.cycu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/L.-Azevedo\u6559\u6388\u8a2a\u53f0-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1477px) 100vw, 1477px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To strengthen the program\u2019s urban vision and local engagement, Professor Laura Novo De Azevedo visited the Taoyuan City Government Department of Urban Development on the morning of December 23, accompanied by the CYCU College of Design team, and met with Director Nan-Chih Chiang. Director Chiang and his colleagues have long supported the OBU Program as industry mentors and have maintained a strong partnership with CYCU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sides exchanged views on Greater Taoyuan\u2019s future urban development, potential industry\u2013government\u2013university collaboration mechanisms, and talent cultivation. In addition to Professor Laura Novo De Azevedo\u2019s sharing, the event also invited alumnus Quincy Kuo, a first-cohort student of the OBU Program currently studying in the UK, to share first-hand experiences with prospective students\u2014demonstrating CYCU\u2019s concrete outcomes and commitment to international education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From December 29 to 30, both teams continued a series of curriculum and research integration meetings, focusing on future international study opportunities for master\u2019s and doctoral programs across related departments, as well as confirming the structure of Urban Lab 2.
