As part of the event, the Quantum Technology Experience Workshop, jointly organized by the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the College of Intelligent Computing and Quantum Information, guided participants from fundamental concepts to practical applications. As the highlight of the second day, the Quantum Technology Experience Workshop adopted the theme \u201cDebunking Myths Before Hands-On Practice,\u201d guiding participants from fundamental scientific concepts and practical quantum computing exercises to discussions on industry developments and future applications. The program was designed to help learners from diverse backgrounds build a solid understanding of quantum science and its emerging trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the organizers, the term \u201cquantum\u201d has become increasingly popular in marketing and media, often disconnected from its actual scientific meaning. To address this misconception, the workshop combined conceptual instruction with hands-on activities to help participants develop a more accurate understanding of quantum science. The morning session began by examining common misuses of the term \u201cquantum\u201d in everyday life and introduced key concepts such as wave-particle duality through the famous double-slit experiment, encouraging participants to learn through observation and discussion. A major highlight of the workshop was the opportunity for participants to operate CYCU\u2019s own Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)-based educational quantum computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CYCU currently possesses five NMR quantum computers capable of operating at room temperature, including two 3-qubit systems and three 2-qubit systems, making it one of the universities in Taiwan with the most comprehensive physical quantum computing facilities for teaching and training. By connecting scientific milestones with industry turning points, participants gained a deeper understanding of the expanding quantum landscape and its future potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop attracted a diverse group of participants, including university professors, graduate students, recent graduates, and high school students, creating a unique cross-generational learning environment. The sessions were led by Assistant Professor Chih-Yu Chen of CYCU\u2019s College of Intelligent Computing and Quantum Information, who has long been dedicated to promoting quantum computing education, and Assistant Professor Tsung-Wei Huang, a certified Quantum Computing Seed Teacher.
