CYCU once again excelled at the 2025 Taiwan Innotech Expo, winning the Platinum Award, the event’s highest honor, for the third consecutive year. With six faculty–student teams competing, CYCU brought home six major awards, showcasing its exceptional innovation and research strength in global invention arenas.

CYCU celebrated its 70th Anniversary and Alumni Day on October 18, 2025, under the theme “CYCU 70: Advancing Toward Sustainability.” The event brought together alumni, faculty, and guests for a series of academic, cultural, and artistic activities, highlighting CYCU’s balance of technology and humanities and ushering in a new decade of global vision and local impact.

To broaden students’ career perspectives, the Department of Electrical Engineering at CYCU hosted the “Empowering Women in Technology — Alumnae Career Forum” on October 18, 2025, during the university’s Anniversary and Alumni Day. Six outstanding female alumni returned to share their career journeys and insights with current students, creating a warm and inspiring exchange that attracted nearly a hundred participants and filled the lecture hall.

Upholding its Holistic Education philosophy, CYCU continues to promote digital transformation and smart learning, aiming to become a Global Digital Lifelong Learning Hub. On October 17, 2025, the university held the Naming and Appreciation Ceremony for the Digital Education Development Base to thank alumni and benefactors for their strong support of digital education initiatives.

From October 14–16, Chung Yuan Christian University’s “Think Tank Week,” organized by the Center for General Education and Alumni Office, brought together industry leaders to discuss SME sustainability, Japan’s corporate transformation, and Taiwan’s energy future.

Chung Yuan Christian University’s Industry Accelerator and Incubation Center won the 2025 AABI Incubator of the Year Award, representing Taiwan and earning top international recognition. Following its success at the Triple E Awards, this achievement reaffirms CYCU’s excellence in entrepreneurship incubation, AI-driven innovation, and global collaboration.

Amid the rising wave of AI, quantum science has gained global attention for its high-performance computing capabilities. Anticipating this trend, CYCU became the first in Taiwan to establish a college dedicated to quantum computing in 2022, aiming to build the nation's most comprehensive quantum computing hub.

Professor Kang-Ping Lin, Distinguished Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), officially assumed office as President of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) in October 2025, becoming the first scholar from Taiwan to hold this prestigious position.

CYCU celebrates another international achievement! Professor Lu Yi-Chun from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages has earned EU approval for her project “United in Diversity – Appreciating Europe and Understanding EU” (UDAEUEU) under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module program. The module officially launched on October 1, 2025.

CYCU held the “CYCU 70 Semiconductor Industry International Forum: Retrospect and Prospect” on October 13, bringing together nearly 200 experts from industry, academia, and research. The event also marked the launch of the Taiwan Semiconductor International Development Association (TSIDA), a new platform for strategic information sharing and global collaboration, aimed at strengthening Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem and promoting sustainable industry development in the era of AI and quantum computing.

On October 8, 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering at CYCU held an in-depth exchange with Delta Electronics on smart energy and power technology. The discussion centered on topics such as international talent cultivation, power management, smart grids, and power electronics applications. Both parties will collaborate to strengthen the connection between academia and industry, jointly nurturing a new generation of electrical engineers with global vision and practical expertise.

Dr. Ting-Jui Chen of CYCU collaborated with MIT Professor Jing Kong’s team, with their breakthrough on next-generation nanoelectronic devices published in Nature (Sept 2025) — a milestone in CYCU’s research excellence.
