The College of Business (COB) at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) has reaffirmed its global standing by successfully passing the AACSB reaccreditation in May 2025. First accredited in 2015, the COB remains among the top 5% of business schools worldwide, demonstrating its continued commitment to excellence in business education.

The College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) has once again earned global recognition as its Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chapter was honored with the Highest Honors Chapter award for the seventh consecutive year. Standing out among 641 chapters worldwide, CYCU remains the only university in Taiwan to achieve this distinction.

CYCU’s Industry Accelerator & Incubation Center stood out at the 2025 Triple E Awards, winning the “Innovative and Entrepreneurial University of the Year” presented by ACEEU. It is the first university incubation center in Taiwan to receive this honor and the only university in Taiwan awarded this year, underscoring CYCU’s excellence in entrepreneurship education and startup support.

Beyond learning Mandarin, 32 international students explored CYCU’s comprehensive academic pathways through a campus visit to the College of Business and College of Engineering on September 3. The event highlighted how CYCU supports overseas students in advancing from language study to professional fields, building a strong foundation for further education and future development in Taiwan.

CYCU’s IM students completed their ninth year of ICT service in Khon Kaen, Thailand, offering VR, AI, and digital skills training. The program enhanced cross-cultural learning, gained strong local support, and underscored CYCU’s global educational mission.

CYCU’s Dr. Yan-Jui Chang and a Taiwan-led research team won Best Paper at IEEE QCE 2025 for breakthrough work in quantum-enhanced typhoon forecasting. Their innovative QPA framework reduces model parameters by over 96% while maintaining accuracy, offering energy-efficient, low-cost forecasting tools. The award affirms Taiwan’s growing role in global quantum research and highlights CYCU’s commitment to interdisciplinary talent cultivation and frontier innovation.

Dr. Daniel A. Sanchez-Loor, Assistant Professor in CYCU’s Department of International Business from Ecuador, was awarded Taiwan’s “Plum Blossom Card” permanent residency, recognizing his contributions in teaching, research, and industry collaboration, and highlighting CYCU’s achievements in internationalization.

On August 23, 2025, six Electrical Engineering students from CYCU, led by Prof. Yu-Kun Lai, arrived at Kansai University for a one-month lab internship. Supported by Japanese scholarships, the students will engage in research on AI, robotics, network communications, and systems control—strengthening expertise and expanding global perspectives through cross-border learning.

CYCU hosted the finals of the AI Teaching and Learning Benchmark Course Competition and Showcase on September 2 and 4, 2025, featuring both student and faculty categories. Organized by the Office of Academic Affairs, the event highlighted CYCU’s achievements in integrating AI into teaching and learning, combining competition, exhibitions, and exchanges to spark creativity and future visions in AI-driven education.

CYCU held the 3rd Future Problem-Solving Competition on August 27, 2025, drawing 66 teams from 51 universities. The event emphasized cross-disciplinary collaboration and holistic education, encouraging students to merge expertise with creativity to tackle real-world challenges. CYCU’s PlastiClassify team won first place with an AI-based system to improve plastic toy recycling. Runner-up Eat Just Enough introduced a smart dietary platform promoting healthy, low-carbon living, while Blue Lab secured third with an AR- and IoT-driven ocean cleanup initiative. Judges praised students’ innovation, stressing that true competitiveness comes from long-term teamwork, foresight, and social engagement.

From August 7–29, 2025, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) and Chungli Senior High School of Commerce co-hosted a Chinese Summer Camp in Mae Sot, Thailand, benefiting over 250 children. Supported by the Heart of One Foundation, 11 volunteers designed lively lessons with songs, games, and crafts, turning Chinese into a fun, hands-on experience. Outdoor activities further strengthened teamwork and language learning. Local teachers praised the creative approach, while CYCU highlighted the program as a model of University Social Responsibility (USR), fostering cross-cultural exchange and planting the seeds of friendship and learning.

From August 18–22, 2025, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Thin Film Research Center held the Biomedical Materials Design and Industrial Applications Workshop, supported by Taiwan’s Higher Education Sprout Project. The event gathered top experts from leading universities, attracting over 360 participants. Courses combined lectures and hands-on training on polymer thin films, nanostructures, and biomimetic dual-ion materials. CYCU emphasized the workshop not only advanced student research skills but also strengthened academia-industry collaboration, cultivating talent for biomedical devices, smart healthcare, and sustainable innovation.
