CYCU Vigorously Promotes Internationalization.

CYCU is committed to cultivating students with a global perspective and international mobility. It actively creates a bilingual learning environment. In the context of a low birth rate, the number of overseas Chinese students and international students has been increasing year by year. The College of Commerce and the College of Design are the most popular among international students. Furthermore, more than 30% of the university’s doctoral students come from abroad, indicating that CYCU’s eight colleges and programs are well-balanced in their development and have gained international recognition as a high-quality international institution.

CYCU emphasizes the development and progress of all aspects of the university. It has announced the publication of the first “Internationalization Development Accountability Report” for universities and colleges. According to the report data, in the 2022 academic year, National Chengchi University has more than 1,000 degree-seeking international students from 30 countries around the world, and has over 300 sister institutions across five continents globally. In the 2022 academic year, there were 525 overseas Chinese students and 514 international students, with the College of Commerce and the College of Design being the most popular. Additionally, CYCU’s master’s and doctoral degrees are also highly sought after by international students. In the 2022 academic year, there were 126 international doctoral students, accounting for 35.4% of the total number of doctoral students.

CYCU provides a diverse international learning environment and actively establishes solid international partnership collaborations. In addition to faculty and student exchanges with major universities overseas, it has also signed dual-degree program agreements with 24 universities in Europe, America, Japan, the Philippines, and other countries. Each college offers dual-degree programs for students to enroll in, providing more opportunities for students to connect with the international community. This fully aligns with the 17th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) set by the United Nations: “Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.”

On the other hand, CYCU has received subsidies from the Ministry of Education’s “University Student Bilingual Learning Program” for universities and colleges. In recent years, the number of English-taught (EMI) courses offered has been increasing year by year. The university strives to construct a bilingual teaching and learning environment, enhance students’ English proficiency, broaden their international perspectives, and connect them with the global community.
