From February 21st to March 30th, the Chung Yuan University Art Center is hosting an exhibition featuring over 70 magnificent works by ceramic carving artist Liang Chengfu and calligraphy artist Li Yuanqing. Among them, there are awe-inspiring pieces, with sculptures reaching up to 170 centimeters in height, weighing over 150 kilograms, and inscriptions totaling over 5000 characters, leaving viewers in awe.
Dr. Liang Chengfu has served the Longtan community for over 40 years as a physician. It was by chance that he came into contact with ceramic carving, and he soon became deeply enamored with this art form. As a Hakka person, he integrates Hakka culture into his delicate craftsmanship. He even carved the lyrics of the popular song “Blue and White Porcelain” onto a porcelain vat, turning it into a masterpiece. This artwork combines Dr. Liang Chengfu’s carving skills, Li Yuanqing’s calligraphy expertise, and the rich experience in colored porcelain of Teacher Qian Yilin, resulting in a captivating transformation of the song’s charm into robust textual art through exquisite carving craftsmanship.
