EVA Air partners with CYCU, inviting top designers nationwide to join the ESG Sustainable Innovation Design Competition.

EVA Air and Chung Yuan Christian University join forces once again to announce the second edition of the “2024 EVA Air ESG Sustainable Innovation Design Competition.” The signing ceremony, co-hosted by EVA Air’s Vice Manager of Operations Management, Yu-Heng Chang, and Chung Yuan Christian University’s Vice President, Ying-Yi Hong, marks the official start of the competition. This year, the competition extends its invitation to students and faculty from universities nationwide, aiming to harness their boundless creativity. Through innovative ideas, the competition seeks to imbue retired cabin equipment and service items, which have traveled the globe over the years, with new value.

The 2024 competition is open for registration from today until March 15th. It features two competition categories: “Spatial Design” and “Commercial Product Design.” In addition to existing aviation cargo containers, straps, and nets, the competition now includes airplane blankets as design elements. Judging criteria include theme creativity, environmental integration, lifestyle aesthetics, and practical functionality. The deadline for submissions is April 8th, with finalists announced on May 15th following a secondary judging session. The award ceremony will take place on May 17th at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, where winning and finalist entries will be exhibited to a wider audience, promoting the proliferation of ESG’s sustainability principles.

This year, EVA Air generously offers a total of 33 flight tickets as competition prizes. The grand prize is a round-trip ticket in the luxurious Premium Economy Class to any destination worldwide. Winning students and their supervising teachers will have the opportunity to travel to global fashion capitals such as London, Milan, New York, and Tokyo. This firsthand experience aims to ignite fresh creative sparks through immersive visits to these renowned design hubs.
