Taiwan’s leading network communications industry firm, “Senao Networks,” donated five sets of high-speed data center core network switch equipment to Chung Yuan University’s Department of Electrical Engineering on December 15th, aiming to assist in cultivating talents in network communication and security. The high-speed network switch equipment in this donation utilizes the Intel Tofino 2 chip, supporting the P4 language, and comes with advantages such as high performance, flexibility, and scalability. Dean Chang Cheng-Yuan of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science expressed gratitude for Senao Networks’ donation, emphasizing its contribution to students’ deeper understanding of software-defined networking and network security technologies, thereby enhancing practical application capabilities.
Dean Chang Cheng-Yuan stated during the donation ceremony that Senao Networks is a global provider of enterprise-grade wireless access points, high-speed Ethernet switches, and high-performance network devices, covering applications from edge networks and the telecommunications industry to data centers. The five sets of high-speed network switch equipment donated this time are highly advanced in performance and functionality. They will be used in the “Computer Networks and Systems Laboratory” of the Department of Electrical Engineering to facilitate in-depth exploration of applications in high-speed network traffic analysis and measurement, as well as practical training related to software-defined networking.
