To cultivate professional talent for various industries, Chung Yuan Christian University actively seeks industry resources and has successfully initiated milestone industry-academic partnerships. Recently, the university collaborated with World Advanced Semiconductor Inc. to launch practical courses in semiconductor processing, creating a talent training model. On the 2nd, with the generous support of Enlight Technology Co., Ltd. and Siemens Ltd., the university received a donation valued at approximately 10 million US dollars for the ‘Integrated Circuit Nanometer Design’ software suite. The companies also assisted in developing the software environment and driving applications, providing it for instructional use at Chung Yuan Christian University’s College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Through this tripartite collaboration, the university aims to nurture core talents with advanced technological capabilities.
Chung Yuan Christian University indicates that the collaboration with Enlight Technology and Siemens encompasses software supply, the establishment of teaching and design environments, and covers areas such as analog, digital, and mixed-signal design, input, layout, and verification. By integrating academic research resources and building an advanced technological practice environment, the university aims to facilitate technological development and sustained innovation in the fields of semiconductor and electronic engineering. The current plan involves offering a course on “Integrated Circuit Layout” in the Department of Electrical Engineering, with 50 open slots for students. The university intends to continue promoting education, training, and technical cooperation in this collaborative effort.
