CYCU collaborates with the Taoyuan Education Bureau to organize a science workshop, aimed at nurturing high school scientific talents through hands-on practical experience.

To stimulate the scientific potential of high school students and cultivate exceptional scientific talents, the Taoyuan City Government’s Education Bureau has invited four university-level research centers from Chung Yuan Christian University – the Semiconductor Materials and Advanced Optics Research Center, the Quantum Information Center, the Thin Film Technology Research and Development Center, and the Smart Manufacturing Research and Development Center – to organize the “2023 Taoyuan City High School Students’ Science Practical Experience Camp.” This program offers thematic science courses, guided tours and explanations of advanced equipment, and hands-on practical experiences. It aims to enhance students’ understanding and inspiration regarding future trends in science and industrial applications.The program has attracted enthusiastic participation from students hailing from various regions of Taoyuan, including those from several prestigious schools such as Wuling High School, Zhongda Luchu High School, Taoyuan High School, Neili High School, Yangming High School, and a total of 12 schools, with 50 high school students taking part.

Chung Yuan Christian University has stated that it boasts 41 university-level research centers, harnessing a wealth of research and development innovation potential. These centers are focused on strategic areas of research and development, such as:

1.The Semiconductor Center, which is dedicated to the research and development of crystal materials and material testing. It collaborates with leading semiconductor companies to form talent promotion alliances, jointly addressing practical industry challenges.

2.The Quantum Information Center, which collaborates with Taiwan Fujitsu and Formosa Plastics Corporation to drive forward quantum technology research and development that involves cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary integration, creating an advantage for the “Taoyuan Quantum Valley at Chung Yuan.”

3.The Thin Film Center, which specializes in the development of bioseparation technologies for advanced biotechnology and healthcare, particularly in the field of cellular therapy.

4.The Smart Manufacturing Center, which aligns with Taoyuan’s Asian Silicon Valley policy to establish a comprehensive AIOT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) industry chain, assisting enterprises in the six major industrial parks in achieving sustainable development.

These initiatives demonstrate the university’s commitment to research excellence and collaboration with industry leaders to drive innovation and contribute to the advancement of various fields.
