The first “National Business Big Data” Innovation Competition, organized by Chung Yuan Christian University’s College of Business and the Global Taiwanese Business Research Center under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Big Data Co., Ltd., took place on May 19th at the Jinyin Business Lecture Hall of Chung Yuan Christian University. The competition included a final round and an award ceremony. A total of 108 participants from 29 teams representing 11 universities and colleges nationwide registered for the competition. In the end, the teams from the Department of Finance, Department of Accounting, and Department of Business Administration at Chung Yuan Christian University claimed the top three positions, making the College of Business the biggest winner nationwide.
The College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University stated that the 2023 “National Business Big Data” Innovation Competition is an important event under the Ministry of Education’s “Humanities, Social Sciences, and Industrial Practice Innovation Linkage Program,” specifically the category B initiative “Promoting Business Intelligence Transformation through Smart Technology.” The university hopes that students will approach the competition with a business mindset and utilize the precise sentiment search and analysis as well as charting functions provided by the “KEYPO Big Data Engine” to discover insightful and creative analysis reports that align with industry demands.
The participating teams from various universities represented 12 different departments or fields, including Business Administration, Information Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management and Wealth Planning, Big Data Management, Big Data Business Applications, Business Automation and Management, Computer and Communication, and Data Science. After two months of initial review, semi-finals, and final selections, the championship title was claimed by the team guided by Professor Li Yan-Xian from the Department of Finance at Chung Yuan Christian University, with their project titled “Unveiling the Business Opportunities and Strategies Behind Shareholder Souvenirs.” The runner-up team was guided by Professor Cao Mei-Juan from the Department of Accounting with their project titled “Carbon Contract ? A Sigh of Relief ? ” The third-place winner was guided by Professor Lai Zheng-Yu from the Department of Business Administration with their project titled “Marketing Strategy and Sentiment Analysis of Eco-Cup Brands.”
