On March 22, 2023, the College of Business at CYCU held the seventh charter ceremony for the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Honor Society, Chung Yuan Chapter. Dean Zheng-Wen Lee led all members in reciting the BGS pledge and presented honorary membership certificates to encourage students to strive for professional excellence and connect globally.
CYCU officially established the Chung Yuan Chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Honor Society in September 2016. Only schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) are eligible to establish a chapter of this organization. The mission of BGS is to encourage and recognize scholarly achievement in business studies, nurture leadership and professional skills among its members, and thereby enhance the value of the BGS organization and serve its lifelong members.
The Chung Yuan Chapter of BGS recognizes students for their academic performance while enrolled in the university. Students are invited to become honor members if they are in their third year or above at the School of Business and rank in the top 10% of their class or program, or in the top 20% for graduate students, as well as pass the qualifying exam for doctoral candidates. In this year’s ceremony, a total of 80 honor members were recognized, including 78 students and 2 teachers, which is an increase of 44 members compared to last year.
