The winners of the Architecture MasterPrize 2022 were recently announced. The Department of Interior Design at CYCU won 16 awards and was eligible for incentives over one million dollars from the Ministry of Education’s International Design Competition. Among the awarded works, master students Chin, Chien-Hao and Yen, Yu-Chi’s “Sound Café” received the “New Discovery of the Year” award in the category of interior exhibition, alongside works from the Harvard University and the Hong Kong PolyU; CYCU students’ design ability is recognized globally. The winning project, “Sound Café,” hopes to transform an old campus dormitory. The re-designed building combines a café and a recording studio. Through the sound café, the designers want to introduce different sensory experiences to the audience.
The Department of Interior Design also received awards from the London International Awards, the 10th Décor House Award, and a Gold and Silver Award from the Interior Design Category of the MUSE Design Awards. These accomplishments were made possible not only by professional training but also by the instructors’ relentless efforts.
