On October 23, 2024, Chung Yuan Christian University’s Career Development Office held the “Career Dream Train Achievement Showcase and Awards Ceremony” at the Jong Juo-Chang Memorial Hall. The event highlighted Chung Yuan’s accomplishments in career counseling, marking a successful conclusion to the Ministry of Education’s Youth Development Administration’s national competitive programs for the 2023 academic year in both innovation and indigenous categories. Jointly organized by the Career Development Office and the Indigenous Student Resource Center under the Office of Student Affairs, the event aimed to share career counseling achievements with universities nationwide, laying a foundation for Chung Yuan’s vision of becoming a model institution in career counseling.
The event unfolded in two stages, beginning with an awards ceremony to honor outstanding faculty, students, and units excelling in student career guidance and employability development. Awards included the 2023 Academic Year Outstanding Career Mentor, Outstanding Employment Program Leader, and Distinguished Career Ambassadors, along with recognition for top students in the first “Chung Yuan Christian University Career Counseling Reflection Competition.” Award-winning faculty were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions in career guidance and internship planning, shaping competitive graduates. Recognized students demonstrated resilience and innovation, actively participating in career activities and advancing Chung Yuan’s career education initiatives.
Following the awards ceremony, Career Development Office Director Zhou Wen-Peng and Indigenous Student Resource Center Director Zhang Wen-Hui presented Chung Yuan’s achievements in innovative and indigenous-focused projects. A panel discussion with expert guests explored the university’s career counseling progress and future directions.
Alongside these events, a three-day “Static Exhibition on Employment Programs for the 2024 Academic Year” was held on the first floor of the teaching building. This exhibit showcased the university’s resources and achievements in career education, encouraging students to engage actively in employment programs to enhance post-graduation competitiveness.
The “Career Dream Train” showcase and awards ceremony highlighted Chung Yuan’s dedication to holistic education, emphasizing balanced development in knowledge, character, practical skills, and career planning. This successful event underscored the university’s commitment to career education, especially in creating supportive environments for indigenous students’ career growth.
