CYCU has once again demonstrated its international reputation in business education by receiving the 2025 Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Global Outstanding Chapter “Silver Award”. This marks the second consecutive year CYCU has earned this prestigious honor and distinguishes the university as the only institution in Taiwan to receive this award. The recognition underscores CYCU’s excellence and ongoing commitment to international business education.
Beta Gamma Sigma is an international academic honor society recognized by AACSB International, established to honor top-performing business students and outstanding business professionals around the world. Only business schools accredited by AACSB—representing the top 5% of business schools globally— are eligible to establish BGS chapters.
CYCU’s College of Business earned AACSB accreditation in 2015 and established its official BGS chapter in 2016. It remains the only university in Taiwan to have been named a Highest Honors Chapter for six consecutive years, a testament to the university’s continued leadership in global business education.
BGS CYCU Chapter Champions Academic Excellence, Global Leadership, and Ethical Engagement
The College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) proudly affirms its long-standing commitment to promoting the spirit of academic honor through the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) CYCU Chapter. The chapter actively organizes recognition events and induction briefings, and publicly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its members during the university’s commencement ceremony—demonstrating its high regard for academic excellence.
In cultivating leadership, the chapter hosts entrepreneurship forums and career development seminars, and encourages students to participate in the BGS Global Leadership Summit (GLS) and BGS Global Online Training Seminars, aiming to broaden their international perspective and enhance cross-cultural leadership capabilities.
To uphold BGS’s core values, the CYCU Chapter encourages member involvement in volunteer service projects, ethics certification courses, and regularly invites industry leaders to deliver keynote lectures. These efforts aim to instill in students a strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and social engagement. The chapter also actively connects with alumni and industry networks by inviting distinguished alumni to return to campus and launching industry-academia collaboration platforms to bridge the gap between learning and practice.
Recognized for its outstanding performance, the College of Business at CYCU was honored at the AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) in Vienna, Austria on April 8, 2025, receiving the BGS Global Outstanding Chapter “Silver Award.” Mr. Chih-Hao Lin, Executive Director of the Office of Business Quality and Accreditation, attended on behalf of the university to accept the award.
In addition, BGS Headquarters will award a US$1,000 scholarship to an outstanding student member of the CYCU Chapter, in recognition of academic achievement, leadership potential, and professional excellence in the field of business.
The College of Business at CYCU remains committed to holistic education by providing professional knowledge rooted in innovative thinking and teamwork, and by nurturing students with both a global outlook and a heart for local communities. Looking ahead, the college will continue to fulfill its mission of delivering high-quality business education, becoming a vital hub for cultivating future global business leaders, while offering students diverse and expansive international learning opportunities.
