CYCU Department of Information Management Wins First Place in Big Data Innovation Competition.

Guided by the Ministry of Education and hosted by the College of Business and the Global Research Center for Taiwanese Enterprises at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), in collaboration with Big Data Co., Ltd., the 3rd National Business Big Data Innovation Competition held its final round and award ceremony on May 16, 2025, at CYCU.

The competition brought together 32 teams and 124 students from 11 universities across Taiwan, engaging in two months of intense competition. Twelve finalist teams were selected to present their professional reports and innovative proposals during the final round.

Ultimately, a student team from the Department of Information Management at CYCU stood out and won the championship, demonstrating outstanding skills in data application and innovation.

The competition encourages students to integrate big data analytics with MarTech technologies from a business perspective, injecting innovative energy into corporate digital transformation. Participants utilized the KEYPO Big Data Analytics Engine, developed by Big Data Co., Ltd., to tackle real-world case studies. Topics spanned a wide range of fields including healthy eating, sustainable development, e-commerce platforms, and mobile payments, with a strong emphasis on business logic and data-driven insights.

Under the guidance of Professor Chueh Hao-En from the Department of Information Management at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), the student team won the championship with their project titled “Healthy Meals Strike Back: Will College Students Buy It?”. The project skillfully integrated data from the Dcard social platform with in-depth survey analysis to accurately identify market demands and marketing strategies.

The CYCU College of Business remains committed to advancing big data education and strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Through hands-on national competitions and diversified curriculum design, the college aims to cultivate a new generation of talent equipped with technological literacy, business acumen, and innovative thinking. This aligns with CYCU’s educational vision of promoting holistic education and smart applications, preparing students to meet the challenges of the digital economy.
