CYCU Joins Hands with Vietnam’s FPT University and FCC Partners to Advance International Semiconductor Talent Development.

Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) continues to strengthen its semiconductor education strategy, aiming to build the most influential international talent cultivation platform in the Asia-Pacific region. On August 21, 2025, CYCU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam’s FPT University and FCC Partners, announcing a joint initiative to promote semiconductor education and cross-border talent training. This milestone reflects CYCU’s vision of “rooted in Taiwan, reaching out globally,” while directly addressing the urgent global demand for advanced semiconductor talent.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Chao-Ming Fu, Dean of CYCU Semiconductor Academy, Levi Nguyen, CEO of FPT Taiwan and Thailand, and Nathan Dang, Market Manager of FCC Partners Vietnam. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Kwang-Cheng Chang, Chairman of CYCU; Binh Truong Gia, President of FPT Corporation; and Charles Huang, Chairman of FCC Partners, symbolizing a new chapter in Taiwan–Vietnam educational and industrial collaboration.

Founded in 2023, CYCU’s Semiconductor Academy is Taiwan’s first MOE-approved semiconductor academy at a private university, offering master’s and international programs, with bachelor’s admissions to begin in 2026. The academy integrates industry linkages and international resources to strengthen students’ practical expertise and global mobility, embodying CYCU’s educational values of talent cultivation, humanistic concern, and global vision.

FPT University, established by FPT Corporation in 2006, enrolls over 150,000 students across campuses in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Renowned for IT, engineering, and design programs, FPT emphasizes corporate internships and boasts a high graduate employment rate. In recent years, it has expanded into semiconductor education. This collaboration with CYCU aims to build a high-tech education hub in Vietnam and jointly train semiconductor professionals to meet the industry’s growing needs.

Chairman Chang emphasized that since its founding in 1955, CYCU has upheld holistic education, nurturing students with professional expertise, integrity, and social responsibility. He noted that CYCU and FPT share common values of practice-oriented learning and global engagement, making this partnership a powerful step toward cultivating international semiconductor talent.

Dean Fu highlighted that the MoU represents a deep alliance in education, research, and industrial development. CYCU and FPT will co-establish an international semiconductor talent platform, expand cross-border curricula, faculty exchange, industry collaboration, and internships, thereby equipping young talent with both innovative practice and global competitiveness. With FCC Partners’ support, the tripartite cooperation gains strategic value by combining academic strength with industrial networks, injecting fresh momentum into the Asia-Pacific semiconductor ecosystem.
