Reaccreditation Affirms CYCU College of Business Among the Top 5% of Business Schools Worldwide
The College of Business (COB) at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) has once again achieved international recognition. Since becoming an official member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in September 2009, the COB earned AACSB accreditation in 2015 and 2021, joining the ranks of the top 5% of business schools worldwide. Following years of continuous improvement and pursuit of excellence, the COB successfully passed the rigorous AACSB reaccreditation process in May 2025, extending its accreditation status for another six years and reaffirming its leadership in global business education.
From May 24 to 28, 2025, CYCU’s College of Business underwent a five-day on-site review conducted by a Peer Review Team (PRT) appointed by AACSB. The team consisted of three distinguished deans: Dr. Brian S. Klaas, Dean of the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, who served as PRT Chair; Dr. Kaushal Chari, Dean of the Lubar College of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee; and Dr. Ahmad Tootoonchi, Dean of the College of Business and Global Affairs at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
The PRT commended the COB for its innovative teaching practices, emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, and strong industry partnerships, which allow students to apply knowledge in real-world business contexts, gain insights into industry trends, and strengthen cross-disciplinary problem-solving skills. The team also recognized the COB’s commitment to cultivating global talent through comprehensive international programs across the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, as well as its wide range of English-Medium Instruction (EMI) courses and cross-cultural activities. Faculty and students were further praised for their outstanding performance in international academic competitions, showcasing both professional expertise and innovative thinking.
Guided by CYCU core value of Holistic Education, the COB is dedicated to nurturing professionals with strong knowledge, global vision, and ethical integrity. Its strategic focus on Innovation, Humanity, and Glocalization has earned widespread acclaim. The PRT members highlighted the COB’s achievements in teaching, faculty development, research performance, and student competitiveness, while also recognizing the remarkable quality and potential of its students. During the campus visit, the review team toured academic departments and programs, gaining firsthand insights into CYCU’s educational environment and institutional resources.
Dean Cheng-Wen Lee of the College of Business stated that achieving AACSB reaccreditation once again not only signifies international recognition of CYCU’s continuous efforts in teaching quality, faculty development, research excellence, financial governance, and societal impact, but also highlights the commitment of the entire faculty and staff to pursuing excellence. She emphasized that the continuation of AACSB accreditation will further enhance the international reputation of CYCU’s students and alumni, expand opportunities for global collaboration, and attract more outstanding international students. Looking ahead, the COB will continue to uphold world-class standards, deepen international partnerships, drive educational innovation and research development, and, with the ongoing support of AACSB, strive to shine as a leading business school on the global stage.
