CYCU AI University co-creation showcase: AI solutions drive local industry transformation.

Chung Yuan Christian University’s “AI University Internship Program” held its second demo and competition on December 23, 2025, featuring 28 students who completed a 15-week intensive industry-academia co-creation program and developed deployable AI solutions for seven partner companies.

Working from real business needs, student teams moved from problem definition and technical design to prototype validation, applying generative AI and AI agents to real-world scenarios and turning collaboration with industry into concrete business value.

The program was jointly led by CYCU’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center and incubated startup No.7 AI Integration Co., Ltd., with participation from seven industry partners including Fuki Innovative Materials, Yongxiong Construction, Shang Chun Stainless Steel, Huayou Enterprise, Lanyang Development Industry, Xuanrui, and Daolin Foods. Adopting a “company-defined challenges, student-driven solutions” model, student teams worked closely with senior executives and key staff to tackle real operational pain points, ensuring industry-aligned learning while helping companies explore practical AI applications.

The AI University course, led by No.7 AI Integration, trained students in generative AI fundamentals including Prompt Engineering and RAG. Through on-site company visits, interviews, and design thinking, teams identified real business needs and developed functional AI prototypes in close collaboration with industry partners.

At the final showcase, students presented solutions for order-process automation, production scheduling support, and operational efficiency improvements, including AI assistants that integrate order and inventory information to accelerate customer response and reduce missed-order risks.

Students also applied AI to interpret technical drawings, standardize workflows, and integrate procurement and inventory data for operational guidance and decision support—reducing manual errors and shortening processing and decision-making time. Industry representatives highly recognized the成果, noting strong potential for pilot deployment and future scaling, with several partners expressing interest in further testing and adoption.

Shen Ping-Wen, CEO of 7th Algorithm Integration, noted that SMEs in Taoyuan face labor shortages, succession gaps, and global competition, and that AI University’s practice-oriented, demand-driven design helps students gain hands-on experience while injecting digital momentum into enterprises to upgrade local industries.

CYCU’s Office of Industry-Academia Operation emphasized that AI University is not just a course but a long-term talent platform linking education and industry, aiming to cultivate a new generation with AI literacy, industry insight, and execution capability to drive smart transformation in the region.
