To strengthen international higher education collaboration, President John Fry of Temple University recently led a delegation to Taiwan and hosted the “Temple Appreciation Dinner” at the Grand Hyatt Taipei on April 25, 2026.
During the event, an admission certificate presentation ceremony was specially arranged for students enrolled in the CYCU–Temple 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program, highlighting the achievements of the partnership between the two universities in cultivating internationally competitive talent. The occasion also demonstrated Chung Yuan Christian University’s continued commitment to advancing internationalization in higher education.

During the dinner, Erika Clemons personally presented admission certificates to students enrolled in the CYCU–Temple 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program. Program Director Lee Yi-Hua noted that the visit by Temple University’s senior leadership and their personal presentation of the admission offers not only reflected strong recognition of CYCU students’ academic performance, but also marked a new milestone in the partnership between the two universities.

The CYCU–Temple 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program is currently Temple University’s only officially signed 2+2 dual bachelor’s degree partnership in Taiwan. Under the program, students spend their first two years at Chung Yuan Christian University building a strong academic foundation and strengthening their English proficiency before transferring to the United States to complete the remaining two years of their degree studies. The program provides students with an efficient pathway to a world-renowned university while equipping them with an internationally recognized degree and cross-cultural competitiveness.

The Temple University delegation was led personally by President John Fry and included several senior administrators, such as Emilia Zankina, Erika Clemons, and Renee Tobin. Their attendance at the appreciation dinner reflected Temple University’s strong commitment to its educational partnerships in Taiwan.

Notably, a special networking session for the CYCU–Temple 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program was arranged before the dinner, giving students and parents the opportunity to meet and speak directly with representatives from Temple University. Many parents shared that attending the event and witnessing the official presentation of admission certificates by Temple University’s senior leadership gave them greater confidence in the program and their children’s future transition to studying in the United States. Students also noted that interacting directly with future faculty and university representatives helped ease concerns about studying abroad and gave them a clearer vision of their academic plans ahead.

CYCU emphasized its long-standing commitment to expanding international partnerships and building substantive collaborations with leading universities around the world, with the goal of creating a strong platform for global competitiveness. The visit by the Temple University delegation not only reflected recognition of CYCU’s educational quality, but also highlighted the growing and enduring partnership between the two institutions.
As the demand for globally minded talent continues to rise, CYCU will further strengthen its international education initiatives and provide students with greater access to global resources during their studies. The appreciation dinner marked an important milestone for students preparing to study abroad, while also reaffirming CYCU’s leading role in advancing international education.
