CYCU Earns Industry–Academia Collaboration Excellence Award for the Ninth Time.

CYCU has once again been recognized with the Industry–Academia Collaboration Excellence Award by the Chinese Institute of Engineers, marking its ninth win and the highest number among Taiwan’s private universities. Through sustained efforts in industry collaboration, technology innovation, and talent cultivation, CYCU continues to strengthen partnerships with global enterprises and build a “Mini Silicon Valley” ecosystem on campus. By aligning academic resources with emerging industry trends, the University has established a cross-disciplinary and international platform that drives innovation and prepares students for future careers.

CYCU was honored once again with the Industry–Academia Collaboration Excellence Award at the 2026 Annual Conference of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, remaining among only seven universities nationwide to receive the distinction. The award reflects CYCU’s continued commitment to industry engagement, innovation, and talent development in an era defined by resilience and transformation.

CYCU views universities as key partners in innovation, talent development, and industrial transformation. Through its specialized research centers, the University advances industry–academia collaboration in strategic fields such as smart manufacturing, thin-film technology, quantum computing, semiconductor testing, and net-zero technologies, helping translate research outcomes into real-world industrial applications.

To advance Taiwan’s key technologies, CYCU has established strategic partnerships with leading global and local enterprises. Collaborative projects span semiconductor technologies, smart manufacturing, advanced materials, and high-speed optoelectronics, supporting both talent development and industrial innovation. The University is also actively engaged in green energy and circular economy research, developing solutions for AI-driven energy efficiency and next-generation battery technologies, while fostering industry-supported research and talent cultivation.

CYCU is also expanding its impact in smart disaster prevention and biomedical innovation. The University has partnered with local governments to develop AI-powered disaster monitoring platforms using satellite imagery and drone technology, while collaborating with industry on advanced biomedical materials and regenerative healthcare applications. In addition, CYCU’s Smart Manufacturing R&D Center supports Taiwan’s precision manufacturing and mold industries by promoting intelligent automation and digital transformation.

CYCU’s innovation and entrepreneurship achievements continue to gain international recognition. In 2025, the University earned top honors at major innovation competitions, including the Nuremberg International Exhibition of Ideas, Inventions and New Products and the Taiwan Innotech Expo. Its Incubation Center was named “Best Incubator in Asia,” while CYCU was recognized as the “Entrepreneurial University of the Year” at the Triple E Awards, highlighting its global impact in research innovation and startup development.

President Ying-Ming Lee noted that CYCU has received the Industry–Academia Collaboration Excellence Award nine times since 2010. Looking ahead, the University will continue expanding cross-disciplinary research, strengthening partnerships with global industries, and advancing its campus science park initiative to accelerate innovation, talent cultivation, and industrial transformation.
