CYCU Partners with Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency to Advance Low-Carbon Technologies and Digital Carbon Solutions.

Chung Yuan Christian University’s Center for High-Value Industry Promotion (HVIP) has strengthened its engagement with ASEAN partners by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Energy and Manufacturing Research Organization (OREM) of Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) on June 9, 2026. The agreement launches a Taiwan–Indonesia collaboration framework for 2026–2028, focusing on low-carbon circular technologies, digital carbon solutions, and sustainable industrial innovation.

The signing ceremony took place during the Taiwan–Indonesia Industrial Collaboration Forum on Low-Carbon Circular Technologies and Digital Carbon Innovation. Co-organized by the APO Center of Excellence on Green Productivity (APO COEGP), Indonesia’s National Productivity Organization (NPO Indonesia), and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the forum brought together government officials, industry associations, and business leaders to discuss Indonesia’s net-zero policies, circular economy strategies, digital carbon solutions, and opportunities for future bilateral cooperation.

Responding to the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the global shift toward green supply chains, CYCU’s Center for High-Value Industry Promotion (HVIP) joined Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in a new collaboration under the APO Center of Excellence on Green Productivity (APO COEGP). The partnership will advance low-carbon circular technologies, digital carbon solutions, and sustainable industrial innovation, while establishing a scalable model for international cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives from Taiwan and Indonesia, including officials from the Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Indonesia, APO COEGP, and Indonesia’s National Productivity Organization, with approximately 40 experts from industry, government, academia, and research institutions participating in the forum.

Professor Tsai-Wang Chung, Director of CYCU’s Center for High-Value Industry Promotion (HVIP), described the partnership as an important milestone in Taiwan–Indonesia collaboration on low-carbon technologies, circular economy, and digital carbon solutions. Dr. Cuk Supriyadi Ali Nandar, Chair of OREM-BRIN, noted that the collaboration will support technological innovation, talent exchange, and demonstration projects, contributing to Indonesia’s green industrial transformation and sustainable development.

To advance practical applications of low-carbon circular technologies and digital carbon solutions, CYCU and BRIN plan to launch joint demonstration projects, technology validation programs, and industry collaborations, while establishing an International Alliance for Low-Carbon Circular Technologies. Future cooperation will focus on sustainable manufacturing processes, resource recycling technologies, and digital carbon management systems, helping businesses strengthen green supply chains and sustainability competitiveness.

With more than 20 years of collaboration with Indonesian academic, industrial, and research partners, CYCU’s Center for High-Value Industry Promotion (HVIP) will continue to support cross-border innovation and green transformation. The partnership aligns with both Indonesia’s net-zero and circular economy strategies and Taiwan’s development of low-carbon and digital carbon management technologies, creating a platform for regional and global sustainability cooperation.
