As learning Chinese has become a global trend, the Department of Applied Chinese at Chung Yuan Christian University aims to cultivate excellent Chinese language teachers. It selects and sends students annually to conduct Chinese teaching internships around the world. The Overseas Community Affairs Council is one of the important partner organizations. To provide students with the best quality Chinese teaching internships and future opportunities for overseas employment, on March 13, 2024, the Applied Chinese Department invited personnel from the Overseas Community Affairs Council to introduce their relevant programs to all faculty and students. This joins hands to enhance the capability of providing quality Chinese language teaching globally.
Under the International Educational Training Programs, there is a special “Professional Chinese Language Teacher Dispatch Program for Allied and Friendly Countries” that dispatches professional Chinese language teachers overseas to provide teaching services and cultural promotion activities, thereby enhancing diplomatic benefits. Since the establishment of the Department of Applied Chinese at Chung Yuan Christian University in 2003, over 240 students have participated in overseas teaching internship programs. Many of these students have been hired as Chinese language teachers abroad after completing their internships.
