CYCU collaborates with TSMC to establish a dedicated program to nurture talents for the semiconductor industry.

Chung Yuan Christian University has collaborated with TSMC to launch a semiconductor program. They have jointly defined the professional knowledge and corresponding curriculum blueprint that advanced semiconductor talents should possess, guiding students to learn cutting-edge semiconductor knowledge and prepare for entering this field. This helps establish a solid theoretical foundation to meet future challenges.

The two parties first discussed the direction and curriculum for cultivating semiconductor talents. After determining the number of collaborative programs and required/elective courses, a recent cooperation briefing was held as a start, with more than 200 students enthusiastically signing up from departments across the Colleges of Science, Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, such as Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

Under the joint planning and discussion between TSMC personnel and Chung Yuan Christian University professors, the curriculum scope was formulated, establishing four TSMC-NCHU semiconductor programs: “Device/Integration Program”, “Process/Module Program”, “Instrument Engineering Program”, and “Smart Manufacturing Program”. Each program covers 20 to 40 different types of courses from the three colleges, laying the foundation for semiconductor talent education and core competencies.

The four TSMC-NCHU semiconductor programs are designed for students from different professional fields, establishing next-generation device development capabilities, cultivating advanced process and integration technologies, material analysis techniques, and encouraging students to deepen their sensitivity and integration capabilities in data science.
