CYCU collaborates with Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. in an industry-academia partnership to cultivate young talents in the semiconductor field.

On June 12th, Chung Yuan Christian University signed a memorandum of understanding with Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. to expand employment opportunities for its students. Through an industry-academia partnership, the collaboration aims to provide internships and job opportunities for students while jointly investing in industry-academia research to cultivate talents in the semiconductor field. Chung Yuan Christian University will establish relevant programs to enhance students’ practical skills. By establishing early connections with the industry during their academic studies, the university aims to facilitate a smooth transition for students into the job market, contributing their expertise and efforts to the nation’s industrial development, and creating a win-win situation for all parties involved.

The signing ceremony between Chung Yuan Christian University and Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. was attended by President Li Ying-ming of Chung Yuan Christian University and Deputy Sustainability Officer Huang Geng-fang of Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. Both parties pledged to engage in industry-academia research collaboration and establish the first “University-Level Employment Program.” In addition to providing internships and job opportunities for Chung Yuan students, the program aims to connect with sustainable development enterprises through customized modules that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By vertically integrating learning, talent nurturing, and industry demand, and complemented by pre-employment mechanisms and scholarships during the academic period, the collaboration will advance curriculum development, student internships, talent recruitment, technological research and development, and talent cultivation. Together, they are committed to paving the way for the future of students.

In his speech, President Li Ying-ming of Chung Yuan Christian University emphasized the university’s commitment to holistic education and sustainable development. He highlighted the university’s active engagement in research application and value creation, as well as its efforts in connecting domestic and international innovation ecosystems. Chung Yuan Christian University has received the “Outstanding Industry-Academia Collaboration Award” from the Chinese Institute of Engineers for seven consecutive years and the “National Outstanding Incubation Award” from the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the twelfth time. It is also the first university-based incubation center in the country to be certified by the International Innovation Incubation Institution.

In February, the university collaborated with several semiconductor companies, including United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) and Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), to establish the Talent Cultivation Promotion Alliance. The partnership with Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. to establish the first university-level employment program is another significant milestone. Both parties will jointly plan market-oriented courses that enhance employability. Through industry-academia research, practical learning, vocational training, and intellectual development, they aim to cultivate talents that meet the needs of the job market. This collaboration will serve as a source of talent for the semiconductor industry in Taoyuan and create multiple cooperative values.

Chung Yuan Christian University places great emphasis on students’ career development. It has established the Dream Circle platform, which provides employment information and incorporates professional seminars to cultivate students’ employability. Moreover, it is the first university in the country to establish an “Industry College.” With the principle of “integration of learning and application,” the university focuses on cultivating students’ abilities to face trends and solve problems, aligning with the concept of sustainable development as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university systematically promotes talent development projects through the goals of innovation, employment, and practicality. This includes the implementation of employment programs, professional internship courses, practical projects, and corporate internships.
