The CYCU Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Commercial Design created the AI auto waste sorting system (Epic Train). The system can solve the issue of insufficient manpower and space on trains. The interdisciplinary team collaborated to construct the system: the Department of Electrical Engineering’s instructor Liao Yu-Ping and students used AIoT to develop the software, and the Department of Commercial’s instructor Shih Chang-Fu and students created the compact appearance. In the HOLTEK MCU competition, the system won the gold medal. CYCU students apply their specialized knowledge to the needs of society, bringing benefits to train passengers.
