Amidst the wave of declining birth rates, Chung Yuan Christian University, renowned for its “holistic education,” steadfastly adheres to its educational philosophy, receiving widespread acclaim. The freshman registration rate has been 100% for four consecutive years, and for six consecutive years, it has ranked first among all public and private comprehensive universities in the country. The undergraduate enrollment retention rate for the 2023 academic year is 95.12%, placing it among the top in national rankings.
Notably, Chung Yuan Christian University is also a key partner of NVIDIA. It is the fourth AI University in Taiwan to collaborate with NVIDIA, following NTU, NTHU, and NYCU, and the first among private universities. In March 2024, the university signed a memorandum of understanding with NVIDIA and announced the establishment of the NVIDIA-Chung Yuan Christian University AI Application Development Joint Service Center to jointly nurture AI technology talent.
Chung Yuan Christian University emphasizes the use of emerging technologies in its teaching, including AI, the metaverse, and quantum computing. It has established professional learning classrooms to provide students with a better AI education environment. In recent years, it has heavily invested in AI teaching equipment, establishing professional AI practical classrooms, with an estimated investment of at least NT$16 million to build AI facilities and optimize related spaces, actively cultivating talents needed for the new generation.
In terms of teaching innovation, Chung Yuan Christian University released its first “Graduate Employment and Skill Relevance Accountability Report” to understand students’ current competencies and expectations for skill relevance. It also published the “Foreign Student Career Development Accountability Report” to enhance employment guidance mechanisms for foreign students in Taiwan. Additionally, to align with international development trends, the university has refined its SDG+AI course modules across various colleges.
In fulfilling its social responsibility, Chung Yuan Christian University continues to promote the Taoyuan Da Hai Community Cultural Revitalization Project and the sustainable management plan linking the Taoyuan Twin Canals Cultural Green Corridor from Xiaoli. It has also received support from the Ministry of Education’s University Social Responsibility (USR) program to launch a sustainable community environmental public welfare museum connection project in Zhongli, encouraging students to engage in public welfare and apply their learning.
President Lee Ying-ming of Chung Yuan Christian University stated that the university creates a broad and practical learning environment, nurturing many “refined talents” who are considered “refined human resources” for industries. Through employment programs in collaboration with enterprises, jointly designing courses, and conducting practical internships, the university works with businesses to cultivate customized talent, providing graduates with broad career prospects.
According to the 2025 QS World University Rankings, Chung Yuan Christian University ranks 15th among all public and private universities nationwide, and 9th in the “employment performance” indicator. The university’s educational philosophy emphasizes, “We understand that everyone has different endowments, personalities, abilities, and environments; thus, fully realizing individual potential is success.” Chung Yuan adheres to its educational philosophy, aiming to cultivate interdisciplinary talents who contribute to the nation and society, benefiting humanity.
