The semiconductor high-tech industry is one of the major pillars of Taiwan’s economy and a key sector for cultivating technology talent. Recently, the Ministry of Education approved Chung Yuan Christian University to establish a “Master’s Degree Program in Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Testing” starting from the 113th academic year. This addition has been recognized as aligning with the country’s future technological development direction and serving as an important indicator of Taiwan’s advancement in the optoelectronics field, providing concrete assistance to the industry. Furthermore, Chung Yuan Christian University is planning to establish a “Semiconductor Industry College” in the future, with the commitment to becoming one of Taiwan’s significant “talent banks” for the semiconductor industry.
According to the results of the Ministry of Education’s professional review, Chung Yuan Christian University has been “highly recommended” to establish the “Master’s Degree Program in Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Testing.” The Ministry has expressed a high level of confidence in various aspects of the program, including Chung Yuan’s overall development, curriculum planning, equipment, and the integration of various resources. Following the establishment of the college-level “Center for Digital Optical Applications and Novel Crystal Materials Research” and the university-level “Center for Semiconductor Materials and Advanced Optics Research,” Chung Yuan Christian University will commence talent cultivation for the “Master’s Degree Program in Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Testing” in August 113th academic year, further underscoring its significance as a milestone in the field.
