After a four-year interruption due to the pandemic, this year, the Chung Yuan Christian University College of Business’s International Business Camp has returned to the Chung Yuan campus. Since the summer of 2010, the College of Business has consistently co-hosted the Summer International Business Camp with two sister schools: Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and Pittsburg State University (PSU) in Kansas, USA. This year, the event makes its comeback, with students and faculty from the three universities coming together for three weeks of “Sino-U.S. Exchange” from June 26th to July 13th at Chung Yuan Christian University. This experience promises to be a rich and diverse summer program filled with international flair.
Over the years, the Chung Yuan Christian University College of Business has been dedicated to promoting internationalization activities. In this particular event, a total of 33 elite students were selected from the two sister schools, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with 9 students, Pittsburg State University (PSU) with 4 students, and 20 students from the Chung Yuan Christian University College of Business. Together, they engaged in studying international business and Chinese culture.
The camp’s curriculum and activities were organized into group sessions and conducted entirely in English. The program included classroom learning as well as off-campus visits to various businesses for practical exposure. Professor Zhang Yaqi from the Department of Finance and Economics arranged the curriculum and corporate visits. Additionally, Professor Ji Wenzi from MTSU’s Management Information Systems Department and Dr. Bienvenido Santos Cortes, Vice Dean of PSU’s College of Business, were invited to participate in teaching, discussing cases, and sharing practical experiences. This comprehensive approach allowed students to gain enriching knowledge and practical international perspectives, significantly expanding their understanding of the global landscape.
