To deepen exchange and cooperation in Christian higher education across Asia, a delegation from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, visited Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) on November 5 to participate in the 2025 Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA) Secretariat Handover Ceremony.
CYCU officially assumed the ACUCA Secretariat, with President Ying-Ming Lee serving as ACUCA President (2026–2027), symbolizing the university’s commitment to advancing the development of Christian higher education in Asia.
This symbolic ceremony reflected the shared core values of faith, service, and excellence, as both universities joined hands with ACUCA member institutions to strengthen connections and foster growth within the Asian Christian higher education community.

The ACUCA Secretariat Handover Ceremony was held at 10 a.m. on November 5 in the Administration Building of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), opening with a heartfelt musical performance that reflected CYCU’s multicultural spirit and warm hospitality.
Dr. Katsuhiro Kohara, President of Doshisha University, expressed gratitude to CYCU for hosting the ceremony and praised the university’s beautiful campus and thoughtful reception. He reflected on his term leading student and faculty exchange programs, micro-credit courses, and board meetings, noting that while the journey was challenging, it was deeply meaningful. Dr. Kohara also affirmed ACUCA’s vital role in promoting regional educational development and the Christian faith, and encouraged CYCU’s new Secretariat team to carry the mission forward with faith and commitment.

CYCU President Dr. Ying-Ming Lee remarked that it was especially meaningful for Chung Yuan Christian University to assume the ACUCA Secretariat role during the university’s 70th anniversary. He expressed gratitude to Doshisha University for its outstanding leadership and dedication over the past two years, emphasizing that exchanges among Christian universities not only strengthen academic collaboration but also unite institutions through faith and education, fostering shared growth in Asian higher education.
President Lee reaffirmed CYCU’s commitment to its motto, “Devotion to the Truth and Implementation through Faith,” noting that for seventy years, the university has upheld holistic education and Christian values, fulfilling its mission as a faith-based institution.

President Ying-Ming Lee further stated that CYCU will continue to embody the Christian spirit of love and service, deepening partnerships with universities across Asia and strengthening academic and cultural ties. The university aims to expand collaborative research, teaching, and student exchange programs with leading Japanese institutions such as Doshisha University, The University of Tokyo, and Kansai University, fostering diverse and fruitful cooperation.
He emphasized that assuming the ACUCA Secretariat is not only an honor but also a responsibility and mission. CYCU will uphold the core values of faith and education through action and innovation, contributing new energy to the sustainable development of Christian higher education in Asia.

CYCU announced that it will continue to strengthen collaboration and interaction with ACUCA member institutions, promoting cross-cultural understanding and the practice of Christian values to expand the influence of Christian universities across Asia.
As part of this mission, CYCU plans to host the “Asian Youth International Camp” next year, inviting students from Christian universities throughout the region to gather at CYCU for exchange, learning, and faith experiences, fostering educational synergy and opening a new chapter in the development of higher education in Asia.
