AI EXPO Taiwan 2026, one of Asia’s leading AI industry events, opened on March 25 at Taipei Expo Park. Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) is the only university co-host, showcasing its strengths in AI and quantum innovation through forums, exhibitions, industry–academia exchange, and science communication. On March 26, Professor Hu Hsiao-Wei received the “Creator Impact Award” for her IC Broadcasting podcast Wisdom of Fish, highlighting CYCU’s influence in technology communication and public engagement.

AI EXPO Taiwan 2026, themed “AI.X,” aligns with Taiwan’s “Top 10 AI Initiatives” and has attracted over ten thousand participants, including national research institutes, industry leaders, and professionals. The opening ceremony was jointly officiated by representatives from government, industry, and academia, including Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, Deputy Minister Chen Ping-yu of the National Science and Technology Council, Macronix Chairman Miin Wu, international representatives, and Professor Ching-Ray Chang, Director of CYCU’s Quantum Information Center.

At the flagship “X Forum,” Professor Ching-Ray Chang—recognized by UNESCO as one of the “Quantum 100”—joined experts from Google Quantum AI and NVIDIA to discuss the convergence of AI, quantum technology, and extreme computing, offering insights into next-generation computational paradigms.

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim also visited CYCU’s exhibition booth, where Dean Chiu Chien-Sung highlighted the university’s efforts in AI and quantum talent development and industry applications. CYCU is collaborating with Compal Electronics and K-Way Information to advance quantum applications in finance, while its “Quantum AI Interactive Panel” (Ruo-Mao) demonstrates innovative approaches to science communication through interactive learning.

Under the theme “AI × Innovative Applications × Industrial Implementation,” the exhibition presented practical use cases of AI across sectors, including smart services, business optimization, and green energy solutions. By connecting local startup hubs in Taoyuan with cross-university resources, CYCU demonstrated how its accelerator platform integrates technology, talent, and market access to drive sustainable innovation.
CYCU emphasized that as quantum technology and artificial intelligence continue to converge, cultivating interdisciplinary talent has become a key priority in higher education. Guided by its human-centered and industry-connected educational philosophy, CYCU’s participation in AI EXPO Taiwan 2026 not only showcased its achievements and strengths in these fields, but also underscored its proactive role in aligning with industry needs and national technology policies. The university aims to contribute to Taiwan’s advancement in the era of AI and quantum innovation.
