The 100K Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, organized by Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), concluded on June 2, attracting nearly 80 teams from 19 universities across Taiwan. After more than two months of competition and evaluation, 30 teams advanced to the finals. CYCU students delivered outstanding performances, earning second place, third place, and honorable mentions for their innovative projects. Centered on smart technology, industrial innovation, and social impact, the competition encouraged students to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit, innovation capabilities, and practical problem-solving skills.

The second-place-winning team, VCStudio, comprised students from CYCU, National Chengchi University, and National Sun Yat-sen University. The team developed “LearnMate,” an AI-powered education platform designed to support exam preparation and personalized learning. By integrating advanced AI models with educational prompting techniques, the platform provides features such as AI-assisted essay grading, Socratic-guided learning, and personalized knowledge mapping, helping students learn more effectively while improving access to quality educational resources.

The third-place-winning team, EcoFixer, addressed longstanding challenges in the home repair industry, including limited transparency, complex processes, and inefficient management. The team proposed a digital housing maintenance platform that streamlines communication and coordination among homeowners, service providers, and managers. By leveraging technology to improve efficiency and service quality, the project demonstrates how innovative thinking can be applied to solve real-world problems while creating both economic and social value.

Among the honorable mention winners was TriaGeek, a startup founded by CYCU Biomedical Engineering freshman Hsiung Sheng. The team developed an AI-powered emergency triage system designed to address information gaps and reduce administrative inefficiencies in emergency care. By integrating artificial intelligence with healthcare information technologies, the platform aims to enhance triage efficiency and optimize the allocation of medical resources.
Notably, in addition to receiving recognition in the competition, TriaGeek was also selected for the first phase of the Ministry of Education’s U-start Entrepreneurship Program, securing NT$500,000 in startup funding and demonstrating strong innovation and commercialization potential.

The championship title was awarded to CogniActive, a team formed by students from Chang Gung University and National Taipei University of Education. The team developed an intelligent eldercare system that combines AI-based motion recognition, contactless fatigue monitoring, and gamified training technologies to support cognitive health among older adults, showcasing the innovative application of technology in senior care.
