Chung Yuan Christian University's "Knowledge and Action Leadership Hall," an industry talent cultivation base, celebrates its five-year anniversary. On May 22-23, the "Smart Leadership: Five-Year Journey" event will be held, featuring the 5G Smart Manufacturing Demonstration Production Line. Experts, scholars, and industry representatives from various fields will gather to witness the technological advancements of CYCU's Smart Manufacturing Research Center over the past five years.
From May 12 to 16, a delegation of professors from Chung Yuan Christian University's College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as the College of Engineering, visited the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). During the trip, they also met with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago and the headquarters of Foxconn. The delegation engaged in extensive discussions on topics such as the Taiwan-US Educational Initiative and the cultivation of international scientific and technological talent. This visit provided strong support to CYCU students currently studying at UWM and made significant contributions to academic and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the United States.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, the "2nd Business Big Data Innovation Competition," jointly organized by the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) and the Global Taiwanese Business Research Center, held its finals and award ceremony on May 17th. The competition aims to cultivate students' ability to apply business thinking, utilizing the KEYPO Big Data Analytics Engine for precise sentiment search and analysis, chart functions, and uncovering insightful and creative reports that meet industry needs.
Chung Yuan Christian University Trains Top Professors, Achieving Outstanding Results! Dr. Li Cheng-Yu, an assistant professor from the Department of Chemistry, represented the university with his project on "Expanding Biochemical Sensing Technology" in the Singularity University's "Executive Program for Leaders" selection process. He stood out among global elites and was successfully accepted. Singularity University is renowned as the world's most intelligent and innovative new-age institution, highly regarded for its ability to integrate elites from various fields.
The new Chairman of the National Development Council is Liu Jingqing, the former Deputy Executive Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers Taiwan and its affiliated businesses. Liu, an alumnus of Chung Yuan Christian University’s Department of Mathematics, also holds a master’s degree in business administration from National Taiwan University, bringing extensive experience in industry practice and professional consulting. Known for his high sensitivity to numbers and his willingness to challenge traditional thinking, Liu Jingqing is expected to bring fresh energy to the financial cabinet.
Through the second-year planting design course in Chung Yuan Christian University's Department of Landscape Architecture, tree expert Professor Feng-Chun Zhan and a team of students, together with alumni resources, were invited to carry out a comprehensive renovation and beautification project. This initiative aims to construct a "green campus" and embodies the educational philosophy of respecting nature.
This year's "100K Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" attracted nearly a hundred outstanding teams from 37 universities and colleges nationwide. Chung Yuan Christian University students, leveraging their professional knowledge and innovative thinking to address social needs, developed a digital speech training system for Parkinson's patients, dietary health services for the elderly, and an environmentally conscious umbrella dryer. To enhance its research and development capabilities, Chung Yuan Christian University regularly holds "University-level Technology Innovation" lectures. On the morning of May 7th, the university invited Yu Ding-Lu, Group Vice President and President of Applied Materials Taiwan, to deliver a speech, attracting hundreds of students to attend. With the topic "The Road to Innovation," Yu elaborated on the development history of the semiconductor industry and how Applied Materials became the world's largest semiconductor and display equipment company, emphasizing the importance of "innovation."
To strengthen scientific research and environmental protection, the National Institute of Environmental Research under the Ministry of Environment signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chung Yuan Christian University on May 6, 2024. The two parties will pool their professional knowledge, technical capabilities, and research resources to jointly conduct more extensive and in-depth research for environmental protection.
With the support of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Chung Yuan Christian University, National Taiwan University, Formosa Plastics Corporation, and the Institute for Information Industry collaborated on industry-academia research. Using Fujitsu's digital annealing hardware, they successfully developed a digital annealing algorithm, which was also featured on the cover of an international journal.
Chung Yuan Christian University's College of Business, together with the Global Taiwanese Businessman Research Center, hosted the "Smart Technology Innovation Application Forum" on April 29, 2024. The forum explored the innovative development and application of smart technology in areas such as smart cities, digital currency, and GPU technology. The event featured several industry-leading speakers, showcasing the college's active exploration and advancement in the field of smart technology. It provided students with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies and practical applications, while also promoting close collaboration between industry and academia.
