Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) held the final round of its 2026 Administrative Innovation AI Competition on June 29, bringing together 16 teams and 64 administrative staff members to develop AI-powered solutions that improve administrative efficiency and service quality. Organized by CYCU, with support from the YUEH-MA Chung Yuan Foundation and sponsorship from the DHC Development Foundation, the competition encourages the practical application of AI to accelerate the University’s digital transformation and smart campus development.
After six months of workshops, mentoring, and project development, teams presented AI solutions addressing administrative services, teaching support, information integration, and workflow optimization. The competition highlighted how generative AI can help streamline daily operations and enhance administrative effectiveness.
The Grand Prize was awarded to the “Ask Less” team for its one-stop AI service platform designed for CYCU’s MetaDisplay immersive smart learning environment. Integrating AI-assisted video conversion, virtual venue preview, intelligent consultation, and equipment maintenance services, the platform also features a 24/7 AI assistant that reduces repetitive inquiries while improving administrative support and user experience.

The “I AI, Therefore I Am” team received the Excellence Award and a prize of NT$50,000 for developing an AI Assistant for Teaching Resource Grant Applications. The system integrates eligibility assessment, reimbursement reminders, application guidelines, and intelligent policy search, enabling faculty members to access funding information more efficiently while reducing repetitive inquiries and enhancing administrative support.

CYCU President Ying-Ming Lee emphasized that people remain at the heart of AI and digital transformation. He noted that the competition demonstrated how staff from different administrative units actively embraced AI through six months of training, workshops, and industry mentoring, applying technology to solve real workplace challenges. CYCU will continue to support the integration of AI into administrative services, enabling technology to become a powerful partner in enhancing efficiency and driving smart campus development.

Hsieh Chien-Hsin, Chair of the YUEH-MA Chung Yuan Foundation, noted that the true value of the competition lies not in the rankings, but in fostering a culture of continuous learning, cross-unit collaboration, and innovation. He expressed hope that AI will become increasingly integrated into university administration, helping enhance service quality and create a smarter, more efficient campus for all faculty and students.

CYCU noted that the Administrative Innovation AI Competition serves not only as a platform for showcasing innovative ideas but also as a catalyst for institutional transformation. Following the competition, the University’s Office of Information Services will work with the winning teams to further refine and implement their projects, integrating AI solutions into administrative operations to enhance efficiency, improve service quality, and advance CYCU’s vision of a smart and sustainable campus.
