On July 21, 2025, CYCU’s Thin Film Technology Center hosted the "2025 Bionic Zwitterionic Technology Forum: Molecular Design and Bioinert Regulation for Advanced Medical Applications." The forum brought together leading experts, including Academician Shaoyi Jiang from Cornell University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, as well as scholars from NYCU, National Chung Cheng University, and CYCU. This high-level international platform showcased cutting-edge developments and practical potential of zwitterionic materials in biomedical innovation.

From July 6 to 11, 2025, CYCU’s Pizun USR team co-hosted an international USR workshop with UCSI University in Taiping and Kuala Sepetang, Malaysia. The six-day event featured field studies, community dialogues, and cross-sector collaboration, aiming to build a sustainable USR co-learning network and deepen Taiwan–Malaysia academic and social engagement.

CYCU has launched a dual-track strategy to drive corporate sustainability and green talent development. The university introduced Taiwan’s first ESG assessment framework tailored for SMEs and will offer an interdisciplinary “Green Talent” program. Aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda, CYCU’s user-friendly ESG tool helps businesses start their sustainability journey, while students gain practical experience for green career pathways.

From July 17 to 18, 2025, CYCU’s Thin Film Technology Center hosted the "2025 Advanced Thin Film Technology Forum," uniting top scholars from Taiwan and Japan. The forum focused on precision medicine, biomedical membranes, and green energy, addressing global needs in antifouling membranes, liquid biopsy, and sustainable processes while advancing cross-border research and talent exchange.

To enhance the professional competencies of overseas Chinese language teachers and promote collaboration between Taiwan and overseas Chinese and mainstream schools in the U.S. and Europe, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) commissioned Chung Yuan Christian University to host the "2025 Language and Culture Workshop for Overseas Taiwanese Educators" from June 30 to July 11, 2025. A total of 46 Chinese language teachers from the U.S., Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Spain participated in the program. The 74-hour intensive workshop aimed to strengthen both teaching skills and cultural outreach capabilities.

CYCU’s Department of Commercial Design won the Best of the Year at the 2025 iF Design Student Award for their project Story EMonster. Created by students under the guidance of Assistant Professor Chang-Fu Shih, the interactive toolkit addresses emotional learning challenges faced by children. Featuring rotating facial expressions and modular monster figures, the design helps young learners recognize and express emotions through storytelling and play. The jury praised its educational impact and social value, recognizing it as an outstanding example of human-centered design. This award affirms CYCU’s strength in innovative, socially engaged design education.

On July 1, the Ministry of Education’s iGER advisory team visited Chung Yuan Christian University, praising its achievements in curriculum innovation, digital literacy, and holistic education. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with CYCU faculty and affirmed the university’s commitment to advancing general education and integrating it with future-ready skills.

CYCU together with the Yuema CYCU Foundation and supported by the DHC Development Fund, held Taiwan’s first AI innovation competition tailored for university staff. With a top prize of NT$100,000, the competition encourages staff to apply AI tools to real campus challenges, aiming to boost administrative efficiency and drive digital transformation.

In August 2025, three youth volunteer teams from CYCU will travel to Cambodia and Thailand for 2–4 weeks of service. By combining their academic strengths, students will support local education and digital development through teacher training, arts and Mandarin camps, and hands-on IT courses—demonstrating CYCU’s commitment to global service and social responsibility.

In June 2025, faculty and students from Chung Yuan Christian University’s Quantum Information Center visited Tohoku University for a three-day program focused on quantum computing education and research. The team conducted courses on quantum annealing and Fourier transformation, and exchanged research insights with Professor Namaru’s group from the Graduate School of Information Sciences, highlighting CYCU’s progress in quantum education and applications.

A U.S. delegation from the National Council of State Supervisors for Languages (NCSSFL) visited Taiwan to strengthen cooperation in Mandarin education and AI integration. Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) was the only private university included, recognized for its leadership in language teaching and innovation. President Samuel Y. M. Lee welcomed the group, aiming to deepen Taiwan-U.S. educational ties.

CYCU held the 2025 International Austronesian Cultural & Design Industry Forum on June 18, welcoming representatives from Indonesia, New Zealand, Palau, and Malaysia, along with designers and cultural leaders. The forum highlighted design as a tool for cultural dialogue and diplomacy. Former Vice President Chen Chien-jen emphasized Taiwan’s key role in the global Austronesian network and the importance of fostering international exchange with Indigenous communities.
