CYCU won one gold, two bronze medals, and the INNOPA Best Innovation Award at the 2025 iENA in Germany. The gold medal went to the Department of Biomedical Engineering for its “Visualized Nano Microscope,” which enables nanoscale imaging of live cells. The Department of Chemical Engineering earned two bronze medals for biomaterial and aerogel innovations, while Prof. Wei-Jen Liu received the Best Innovation Award for advanced battery materials, showcasing CYCU’s global research and innovation strength.

From November 1 to 5, 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) visited Tokyo Denki University (TDU) to participate in a joint research forum and collaboration workshop on robotics and mechatronics. Led by Prof. Yu-Kun Lai, the delegation of nine faculty members reinforced nearly 20 years of partnership between the two universities and advanced cross-border research and student exchange initiatives.

CYCU excelled at the 30th Information Application Service Innovation Contest, winning three first prizes, one second prize, and multiple honorable mentions, while achieving an eight-year winning streak in the Industry-Academia Collaboration Category I. Led by Professor Shih-Lun Chen, the Department of Electronic Engineering team earned top honors with the “Intelligent AI-Assisted Periodontal Disease System,” while “OralEye” and “AI-DentPath” also captured major awards, showcasing CYCU’s excellence in AI-powered dental innovation.

A delegation from Doshisha University, Kyoto, visited CYCU on November 5 for the 2025 ACUCA Secretariat Handover Ceremony. CYCU officially assumed the ACUCA Secretariat, with President Ying-Ming Lee serving as ACUCA President (2026–2027), marking a new milestone in Asian Christian higher education.

CYCU’s IAIC hosted the 2025 Smart Taoyuan Industry–Academia Co-Creation Forum on October 29, bringing together leaders from industry, government, and academia to advance smart city innovation and startup acceleration. Six outstanding startup teams were honored for excellence in AI, green sustainability, and digital transformation. Having earned international awards from ACEEU and AABI, CYCU continues to lead in innovation and industry–academia collaboration, building a sustainable and smart innovation ecosystem rooted in faith and wisdom.

The Department of Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University has established the AI Digital Fabrication Laboratory to advance digital and intelligent transformation in architecture. Integrating design, structure, and technology, the lab enables students to apply and test design logic through hands-on practice, embodying CYCU’s philosophy of balancing theory and practice while bridging education and industry through digital innovation.

In August 2025, Professor Hsiao-Wei Lin of CYCU’s Department of Architecture led students to Kiruna, Sweden, for the 19th TICCIH Conference. With her coordination, the Asian Network of Industrial Heritage (ANIH) and TICCIH signed an MOU, enhancing Taiwan’s global visibility in industrial heritage preservation and fostering long-term international collaboration.

CYCU once again excelled at the 2025 Taiwan Innotech Expo, winning the Platinum Award, the event’s highest honor, for the third consecutive year. With six faculty–student teams competing, CYCU brought home six major awards, showcasing its exceptional innovation and research strength in global invention arenas.

CYCU hosted the “Service-Learning for Sustainability Showcase” on October 19, organized by its Service-Learning Center. The event featured two main parts—the “Harbor Market” and the Achievement Presentation—and was held in collaboration with local NPOs to promote sustainability education and civic engagement in Taoyuan. During the event, students guided by Associate Professor Chien-Sheng Huang from the Department of Mechanical Engineering presented an innovative, low-cost wheelchair powered by a solar regeneration system, demonstrating the integration of technology and social responsibility. Various nonprofit organizations also participated, exhibiting their sustainability initiatives and achievements in community development.

CYCU celebrated its 70th Anniversary and Alumni Day on October 18, 2025, under the theme “CYCU 70: Advancing Toward Sustainability.” The event brought together alumni, faculty, and guests for a series of academic, cultural, and artistic activities, highlighting CYCU’s balance of technology and humanities and ushering in a new decade of global vision and local impact.

To broaden students’ career perspectives, the Department of Electrical Engineering at CYCU hosted the “Empowering Women in Technology — Alumnae Career Forum” on October 18, 2025, during the university’s Anniversary and Alumni Day. Six outstanding female alumni returned to share their career journeys and insights with current students, creating a warm and inspiring exchange that attracted nearly a hundred participants and filled the lecture hall.

Upholding its Holistic Education philosophy, CYCU continues to promote digital transformation and smart learning, aiming to become a Global Digital Lifelong Learning Hub. On October 17, 2025, the university held the Naming and Appreciation Ceremony for the Digital Education Development Base to thank alumni and benefactors for their strong support of digital education initiatives.
