CYCU has appointed alumnus Lin Chien-Nan, former Chairman of Formosa Plastics Group and ITRI academician, as its "Chief Technology Advisor." With expertise in petrochemicals, green energy, and AI, he will support the university in innovation, industry-academic collaboration, and talent development, enhancing its global impact in technology.

CYCU will host the "Innovation & Entrepreneurship Carnival" on March 18-19 to celebrate its 70th anniversary. With the theme "AI-Driven Future, Industry-Academia for Sustainability," the event showcases CYCU’s achievements in innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration. Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-cheng will attend, highlighting CYCU’s role in bridging academia and industry to foster entrepreneurship and drive economic growth.

A delegation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) recently visited Chung Yuan Christian University, engaging in in-depth discussions on dual-degree programs, academic collaboration, and industry-academia partnerships. The visit strengthened international ties and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in education, research, and exchange programs.

According to the Ministry of Education's 2024 statistics, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) has achieved a 100% freshman enrollment rate for five consecutive years, with an actual rate of 101.23% due to ICT expansion quotas. CYCU has never applied for reserved quotas, ensuring an authentic enrollment rate. It has ranked first among national comprehensive universities for seven years and led private universities in overall freshman enrollment (97.40%) for three consecutive years.

As CYCU prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary in October 2025, it reaffirms its commitment to its Christ-centered founding spirit by elevating the Chaplain’s Office to the Chaplaincy Division. This upgrade enhances pastoral care and spiritual support for faculty and students while strengthening the university’s dedication to integrating faith and academics, setting a new benchmark for Christian universities in Taiwan.

CYCU has achieved a 100% freshman enrollment rate for the fifth consecutive year, despite challenges from declining birth rates. With a focus on holistic education, CYCU also maintains a steady freshman retention rate above 95%, showcasing its excellence in recruitment and student development.

According to the latest ScholarGPS report, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) ranks 460th in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 722nd in Engineering and Computer Science, and 1,241st overall. Additionally, multiple CYCU professors are among the top 0.5% of scholars worldwide, highlighting the university’s global academic impact.

The 17th Topco Thesis Award attracted 1,023 theses from 73 universities worldwide, covering fields like business, AI, and sustainability. Chung Yuan Christian University students excelled in this prestigious competition, highlighting their outstanding research and innovation.

The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Polymer Society of the Republic of China, Taiwan's premier polymer science event, took place on January 15. Chung Yuan Christian University's Professor Chang Yong made history by receiving the 2024 "Outstanding Polymer Application Award," becoming the nation's only scholar to win all three major Polymer Society awards, highlighting his exceptional contributions to polymer science and technology.

To meet industry demand for practical semiconductor talent, Chung Yuan Christian University inaugurated the "Semiconductor Testing Laboratory" on January 13, 2025. Equipped with advanced testing equipment, the lab provides a platform for internships, research, and industry-academia collaboration, fostering top-tier semiconductor talent.

On January 10, 2025, the Department of Applied Chinese held its annual Graduation Project Competition, featuring 10 teams and 48 senior students. The event showcased diverse and innovative achievements in Chinese language teaching, earning high praise from the judges.

CYCU’s Applied Chinese Language and Literature Department has developed a digital learning program to preserve Bunun language and culture. Led by Assistant Professor Liao Yi-Yao and Indigenous Program Director Lumav, the program uses interactive games and podcasts to create an innovative model for language revitalization and cultural heritage.
