The Thin Film Technology R&D Center of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) and the Polymer and Biomaterial Research Center of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Japan have signed a cooperation agreement. This is the first time NIMS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with an overseas university research center, which is of great significance for promoting international industry-academia collaboration between Japan and Taiwan, driving technological innovation, and strengthening talent cultivation.

Chung Yuan Christian University has a long-term partnership with the Khmer Akphiwat Khmer Organization (KAKO) in Cambodia. Together, they have worked to train local information technology and English language teacher-mentors, and set up courses for children in rural areas. They have also used the internet to collect raincoats to ensure that children's learning is not disrupted by the weather.
